About Us

Rick and Marilyn Hollander started their insurance career in 1982 by opening up what is called a “scratch agency” which is another way of saying “an agency with no customers” yet! The Rick Hollander Agency started out by selling insurance through a “captive” company which allows their agents to only sell insurance products through their company. Rick and Marilyn learned early on that rates and competitive products were important to build their agency, but that giving excellent service was the key to building long term relationships and earning the trust of their insureds. Their motto then and still is today “to always do more than what is expected.”

After building a successful insurance agency with the captive company, it came time to make a hard decision. It became apparent that in order to offer their clients better options regarding their insurance needs, it would be necessary to open an Independent Insurance Agency and represent more than one company. With more companies comes more choices regarding coverage, rates and most important of all, service. In 2008, a new “scratch” insurance agency was formed, Hollander Insurance Agency, Inc.

“It was a hard decision to start all over again, but having several highly rated insurance companies offering a multitude of diversified products that allow us to serve our clients better was a smart decision and a good decision”, says Rick. “With almost four decades in the insurance business, we are now insuring not only the children but also the grandchildren of our earliest clients.”

It is the goal of the Hollander Insurance Agency to continue to earn the trust of our clients by providing a diversified portfolio of insurance products at an affordable price, and providing excellent service after the sale. The Hollander Insurance Agency sells Insurance in Iowa, Wisconsin and Illinois.
